Call for Demonstrations

Call

ICMC 2005 is pleased to offer a new 45 minute "demonstration" format as an alternative to traditional lecture style oral paper presentations. Multiple demonstration rooms with audiovisual facilities are available, including at least one room with 5.1 surround sound. A carefully structured timetable will allow atendees to maximise their exposure to their chosen topic stream. Ample time before and after each presentation will be available in each room to support set up and tear down of more complex demonstrations.

The demonstration format is offered for the presentation of short (4 page) peer-reviewed papers, and is also offered as a separate submission category for presentations which do not fulfill the review requirements for papers. For example, presentation of completed software, or presentation and discussion of musical works. In this case we invite submission of a 1 page "demonstration outline," which will also be published in the conference proceedings. We are especially keen to encourage composers to talk about their work as a way of including more works in the presentation-interpretation process.

Multiple rooms will be provided with the following facilities:

  • SVGA video projection
  • High quality audio system (please specify your requirement for stereo or 5.1)
  • High speed internet access

Although additional resources may be available on request, demonstrators with special requirements are expected to supply their own equipment.

In addition to the standard 45 minute format we are open to proposals for longer demonstrations.

Submission Information

For detailed submission information, please consult the paper submission instructions page. We have provided templates in LaTeX and Word formats. To help ensure consistency in the printed conference proceedings, the technical committee will only review submissions that use the ICMC 2005 template.

Proposed and final papers must be submitted through the website. We cannot accept printed papers via postal mail.

Deadlines

Papers must be submitted online by Saturday, March 5th, 2005.

Applicants will be notified of acceptance or rejection of papers, posters and demonstration proposals by May 31st, 2005.

For accepted submissions, the final deadline for submission of camera-ready versions is June 21st, 2005.
